Tweaks to the Home Page

Since you found the link to read this article, you've probably already noticed that the home page has changed some. First of all, the auditorium chairs are all purchases and installed, so we don't need the "chair countdown" anymore. That area of the home page may serve various functions going forward, but for now, we're using it to promote the upcoming Decemberadio concert.

All of the other home page items are still there; they've just been shifted around a bit. To make "Your First Visit" more noticeable, I have moved it to the left-hand column. "Latest News" and "Upcoming Events" were each shifted one column to the right. Also, now that only one sermon is being video taped each week, I decided to place the sermon video in the same column as "Your First Visit", so it is now in the lower-left corner of the home page. This enabled me to increase the size of "Upcoming Events", allowing more events to be displayed. The youth and children's programs have started up again, so the number of upcoming events is going to be higher than when we launched the site in June. The increased space on the home page for events should be filled quickly.

Home Page Redesign

The home page for the site has been re-arranged a bit to present things in a more compact format. We've also embedded videos of the most recent sermons in the bottom-right corner so that you can watch them right on the home page. (If you want to see them larger, you still can view them using the Past Sermons page.)

Google Maps Issue Resolved

The issue that would give you an error message any time that you accessed a page that had Google Maps functionality on it when you used the www.ffbic.org domain name has been resolved. The Google Maps functionality now works correctly for both domain names.
