This week: Chapter 7Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome and told them “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” (Romans 8:28)
Sometimes we have difficulty seeing this, don’t we? In our own lives when things don’t make sense. When events unfold like what happened in Aurora. When we see how opposition to Jesus continued to increase in the last six months of His ministry.
This Sunday we’re in John chapter 7, and Pastor Bill’s message in the Auditorium is titled “In All Things God Works.” We’ll talk about events in Aurora and events in Jerusalem and events from our own lives. And do our best to cling to the promise that God is working for our good, no matter what.
Pastor Adam’s message in the Chapel is called “The Fulfillment of the Feast.” We’ll see that not only do some of Jesus’ disciples abandon Him (Chapter 6), but even His brothers do not believe. He is accused of demon possession and by the end of the chapter there is a “warrant” out for His arrest. Through it all we’ll see how Jesus fulfills what the Old Testament Feast of Tabernacles pointed to. Not only was the Feast observed to remind the Israelites how God had the people lived in “tents” as He led them to the Promised Land…but it was also pointed the Israelites to the last days when God promised to pour out His Spirit on all Believers.
