A Strange Story

This week in the Auditorium Pastor Shaun continues his series on The Patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob).   Sunday morning we’ll be looking at a strange story found in Genesis 22 that involves Abraham and Isaac.  Shaun’s question will be: “What do you do with a passage of Scripture like this? What kind of God would ask a man to kill his own son?” The answer is shocking.   And in the midst of this passage are some very important things that God wants to teach us.

Pastor Brian continues his series – Elijah, the Man of God – in the Chapel Service at 11.   This Sunday we will be looking at The Battle of Mount Carmel, where 450 prophets of the storm god Baal and 400 prophets of the goddess Asherah came up against Elijah, who served the Living God. We will see how the people of Israel had wavered in their walk with God, and how everything came to a head at Mount Carmel.   I Kings 18 will be our Scripture text.
