Peter’s Turn

This Sunday we continue our sermon series called “I Have Seen the Lord!” We have been looking at some post-resurrection encounters that people had with Jesus. This week it’s Peter’s turn. It will be the third time that he has seen the Lord since He rose, but this one is pretty significant.
Two things unfold: a fishing excursion and a conversation by a fire of burning coals. Both will take Peter back in time to another fishing excursion and another conversation by a fire. There will be some remarkable similarities between then and now…but also something dramatically different the second time around.   We’ll go to John 21:1-17 to read about this third encounter that Peter had with Jesus. Pastor Bill’s message is titled “Do You Love Me?”
Pastor Ray continues his series in the Chapel called Spiritual Friendship.  His message is titled Jesus Loves the Little Children.   Ray will have us consider questions like:  What is an accurate picture of Jesus?  How is Jesus revealed in the Bible?  Do I know Jesus personally, as a close friend?   We will be learning how we can help each other pay attention to Jesus.  Our Scripture text is from Matthew’s gospel, chapter 19, verses 13 through 15.
