Why Yeast?

Jesus told His disciples, “Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees…” Why didn’t He simply say, “Watch out for the sin of the Pharisees?” There must be something more here. And sure enough, there is.
By calling sin “yeast”, Jesus helps us understand how sin works. This is what we’ll be looking at this Sunday as Pastor Bill begins a 3-week series called What Is Wrong With Us?   Bill’s sermon is titled Sin As Yeast.  Scripture text: Mark 7:25-30 and Mark 8:11-17.
Pastor Ray will be preaching in the Chapel this Sunday and next.   He will take the two messages on Gideon from the KING ME series and bring them at the 11:00 Chapel services over the next two weeks. Ray’s sermon is titled How Big is Your God?   Scripture text: Judges 6 & 7.
